Most components of the skin, including collagen, undergo continuous turnover. New collagen is continually produced and recycled throughout life. At a younger age the synthesis of collagen predominates, whereas after about age of 40, the degradation of collagen picks up speed. Therefore, to keep our skin's collagen in balance, after certain age you may benefit from steps to boost collagen synthesis and reduce its degradation Collagen is the most abundant protein found in the connective tissue in the body. Like many other components in skin, collagen is constantly being broken down, produced and recycled. Marine collagen is becoming increasingly popular for skin treatment and many people believe that it is better than land-based sources of collagen.
Marine collagen is taken from fish and is thought to have less environmental contaminants than the collagen taken from cattle or pigs. Marine collagen is smaller in molecular weight and thus is believed to have increased absorption into the skin. Marine collagen is derived from cod, a deep sea fish. The collagen is taken from the scales and fins.

Skin gets thicker and more youthful, becomes more elastic and hydrated and you begin looking younger within the first week. Fine lines and wrinkles begin to disappear and deeper wrinkles recede within three weeks, the face actually undergoes a visible change of youthful contour.

The use of collagen increases as we age and picks up speed after 40. As we age, it can benefit the skin to help boost collagen presence.
Marine collagen is extracted from fish that are being processed for other purposes, so the collagen derived from these sources is said to be environmentally friendly.

Truth or Myth?
There are so many people with a lot to say out there on the Internet. As I do my research I find many interesting comments and information from people who claim they know what they are talking about. To my surprise they do not list where they get their information, which means it is either an opinion or they have been misinformed. As my mother and father use to say to me "you can't believe everything you read" which holds true for the Web. When I do my research I find many sites on what people are saying about ingredients that cause cancer. If they do not list where they got their information or list a reliable information source or a nationally known organization with the web address, then it is probably a Myth! Since we (my family & I) use all our products on a daily basis, their safety as well as my customer's safety is extremely important. If a customer has a concern about an ingredient I will do my best to research the ingredient or develop a products using alternative ingredients. We Do Not put a product on our shelves for the sake of selling them. We actually use them and can give first hand knowledge on each item. I have listed the sites of well known and replicable organizations where I get most of my information, please visit them before you make your decision about certain ingredients, you will be surprised.
